„OST.WEST NAHT“ UNTERSUCHT EINEN ANNÄHERUNGSPROZESS ZWISCHEN OST UND WEST UND DIE TEXTILE LINIE MIT DER DIE BEIDEN STOFFE VERBUNDEN WURDEN. EIN VERSUCH FREIZULEGEN, ZU VERBINDEN, ZU ÜBERWINDEN UND MITEINANDER INS GESPRÄCH ZU KOMMEN. IN EINEM TEXTILEN UND AUDIOVISUELLEN PROJEKT GEHT DIE KÜNSTLERIN ANNE REITER, DIE IN DRESDEN GEBOREN IST UND SEIT EINIGEN JAHREN IN HAMBURG WOHNT, FRAGEN RUND UM IDENTITÄT UND ERINNERUNGSKULTUR NACH. IN ZUSAMMENARBEIT MIT DER KÜNSTLERIN VERA DREBUSCH, DEM SOUNDDESIGNER JONAS SCHLIMBACH UND FOTOGRAFISCH BEGLEITET VON JÁNO MÖCKEL WERDEN IN GROSSFORMATIGEN TEXTILARBEITEN, FOTOGRAFIEN UND SOUNDCOLLAGEN VERSCHIEDENE FRAGEN RUND UM DAS HEUTIGE VERSTÄNDNIS VON „DEM OSTEN UND WESTEN“ GESTELLT. ES WIRD VERKNOTET, VERFILZT, MIT KÖRPEREINSATZ UND DER SCHWERE DES MATERIALS GESTALTET, VERÄNDERT UND AUFGEZEIGT.
„ost.west NAHT“ explores the process of approaching between East and West and the textile line connecting these two fabrics; exposing, connecting, overcoming, and getting into a conversation with each other. In this both textile and audiovisual exhibition, the Dresden-born and Hamburg-based artist Anne Reiter starts a quest about identity and memory culture. In collaboration with artist Vera Drebusch, sound designer Jonas Schlimbach and photographer Jáno Möckel, different perspectives about today‘s understanding of „the East and the West“ find their ways in large-scale textile works, photographs and sound collages. This knotting and felting, under heavy duty and with heavy materials, reveals a sequence of transformations.
